MARLON ROBINSON, PH.D., LMFT

LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST

Dr. Marlon Robinson and his wife, Otencia Johnson Robinson are cofounders of Family On Point, LLC, a ministry that empowers and nurtures families to grow in Faith, Hope and Love. The Robinsons have been married for over eleven years and together they have three children.

Dr. Robinson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is also a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, ordained minister, and a Board-Certified Chaplain.

Dr. Robinson has authored articles in professional magazines and academic journals on self-care for MFTs, pastors’ mental health, Black and White biracial marriage, and shared leadership. His work was cited on Psychology Today and by the syndicated columnist, Terry Mattingly. He has appeared on radio and TV programs such as: Life Line (NCU FM), Day Break (Cayman 27), and Profile (Television Jamaica). He is inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi and Delta Kappa-The International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society. He has received several awards and recognitions.

Over the last eleven years, he has presented in the areas of family and relational health, mental health and wellness, the intersectionality of mental health and spirituality, life balance, and leadership. He has presented at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Annual Conference and Leadership Symposium, Adventist Conference on Family Research and Practice, The Coalition for Physician Well-being, Healthcare Entities, Universities, and Faith-based Organizations .

Dr. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Master of Divinity from Northern Caribbean University and Andrews University, respectively. He received both a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio.

Dr. Robinson is a servant of God, who loves people, and he is committed to helping families and individuals live their best life. As a former academic underachiever due in part to fatherly abandonment, he overcame many obstacles through a spirit of resilience and stands ready to work with families to champion a solid marriage and family life.

Otencia Johnson-Robinson and her husband, Dr. Marlon Robinson are founders of Family On Point, LLC, a ministry that empowers and nurtures families to grow in Faith, Hope and Love. Together they have three wonderful children. Mrs. Robinson has set out to educate, encourage and inspire families  to remain faithful to the calling of the Biblical role of family and experience the peace and joy that comes with God’s way.

Mrs. Robinson is passionate about seeing families bloom amidst the ever-growing challenges. She believes that a well-ordered family does not come by happenstance. Instead, training starts in childhood and blossoms into a life-long commitment of following the principles that are outlined in the Word of God.  Her passion to help families walk in truth and live out their calling was fueled by her involvement in youth ministries at the early age of 13 and then further ignited when she had the joy of becoming a wife and mother.

Mrs. Robinson is a Certified School Counselor with a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Northern Caribbean UniversityIn 2013, Otencia was inducted into the Chi Sigma Iota, the International honor society for counselors. Mrs. Robinson’s counseling experience is in the school and behavioral health settings. She has co-labored for over 18 years with families in mentoring and leading young people to a life of purpose and overall growth through teaching, professional school counseling and various church ministries.

Mrs. Robinson has co-authored articles on marriage and children with her husband and speaks on Women & Mentorship, Relationships, Parenting, Homeschooling, Mothering, Youth challenges among other topics.

Mrs. Robinson  greatest desire is to see families grow in Faith, Hope and Love.
